The TOEFL iBT® measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level. And it evaluates how well you combine your listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills to perform academic tasks. The test helps students demonstrate that they have the English skills needed for success.

Take the test in Blacksburg

Take the TOEFL iBT at the Virginia Tech Language and Culture Institute facility in Blacksburg by registering on the Educational Testing Service website. When choosing a test location, select "Roanoke, Va" in the regions dropdown menu. The LCI is listed as "Virginia Tech (STN13076A)" among test center options.

Test-takers, please note that identification requirements are strictly enforced. Guidelines for acceptable documents appear on the ETS TOEFL website.

Directions and overnight accomodations

The Language and Culture Institute is at 840 University City Blvd., across from the University Mall in Blacksburg, Virginia.

The number "840" is prominently displayed on the side of the building facing the road. Parking is readily available and does not require a permit. If taking a bus, disembark at the Math Emporium stop on the Tom's Creek line and cross the street.

Conveniently located near the LCI, The Inn at Virginia Tech is the only hotel on the campus of Virginia Tech. Rooms can be booked directly at www.innatvirginiatech.com.
