Blacksburg, some 12,000 acres nestled on a plateau between the Blue Ridge and Alleghany mountains, is special. Home to about 42,600 local residents, the town is considered small by most any standard, but don’t let its size or location fool you.

Summers in Blacksburg are warm and humid, and winters are generally cool to cold with occasional snow. Monthly mean temperatures range from 30.9° F (-0.6° C) in January to 71.1° F (21.7° C) in July.

Where We Are

The Virginia Tech Language and Culture Institute's main office is at 840 University City Blvd., across from the University Mall. The number "840" is prominently displayed on the side of the building facing the road.

Free parking is readily available and does not require a permit.

If taking a bus, disembark at the Math Emporium stop on the Tom's Creek line and cross the street.
