Find the resources you need as a student at the Language and Culture Institute.

The student handbook aims to answer many questions about studying at the Intensive English Program or AdvantageVT. You are encouraged to ask your professors or the LCI staff any additional questions.

The LCI offers myriad resources designed to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.

Our online study resources will help you practice what you've learned at class. You'll find resources dedicated to reading, writing, grammar, speaking, listening, vocabulary, keyboarding, test preparation, and more.

Students in the Intensive English Program usually live with American families or in apartments. AdvantageVT students may be able to secure on-campus housing.

Bills are paid at the university Bursar's Office in the Student Services Building.

As an international student, you must obey the immigration laws and regulations of the United States. Because you are a student with F-1 status, you are responsible for learning, understanding, and obeying the U.S. laws and regulations that apply to you. If you fail to do so, you can be deported from the United States and barred from returning for a long time.

Visit the Student Services forms page to download a variety of forms you may need.

At the LCI, you can enjoy a full program of activities designed to make your stay a pleasant and memorable experience. You will learn about the area, experience U.S. culture, and interact with American and other international students.
