English Essentials
English Essentials is a multilevel course series designed to help you make the transition to American academic life.
Students enrolled in this program take part in courses making up our Intensive English Program, including instruction in all language skill areas: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and pronunciation.
We will also teach you academic study skills so you are ready to succeed at an American college or university, including test-taking and notetaking skills, critical reading and writing, and research and library skills.
Many of our students go on to study at a college or university in the United States at the undergraduate or graduate level.

- Up to 12 months of study, depending on placement
English Essentials is a course-only option and so is offered at a lower cost than Intensive English.
English Essentials does not include conditional admission, academic advising, tutoring, and TOEFL workshops. Students wishing to have these features included in their program should apply for Intensive English or Conditional Admission, as applicable.
Access to university facilities and services (recreation facilities, health services, transportation services, etc.) is available to English Essentials students at additional cost and can be purchased at registration.
